You Have Arrived!

Are you waiting for
something in your life? Do you feel that when this or that
happens, that you will finally be living? Many of us are
waiting to lose that last five pounds, to pay off our bills, to
move back to another location or for our spouse to be more kind.
This reminds me of the Global Positions System (GPS) on my car.
My GPS says ‘You have arrived’ when we reach our final
destination. It reminds me that many of us are waiting to arrive
somewhere in life. For me it has been many things, but of late
it was waiting to move home to the United States.
I am reminded of the movie The Shawshank Redemption,
where Morgan Freeman’s character says “Get busy living or get
busy dying”. When I first saw this film, that one statement
was a revelation in my life. I was having some problems and felt
that my life was being pulled out of me. I contemplated that
statement for a long time and decided to apply it directly to my
life. I made some life altering decisions and got busy living
instead of busy dying.
Later, I met the Lord Jesus and I learned that our Father wants
us to choose life and not death. “I call heaven and earth as
witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and
death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both
you and your descendents may live”
(Deuteronomy 30:19).
Therefore, I found that when I focus on something that is not
right in my life such as my weight or a bill, then I am not
walking in the life that Jesus died for me to have. We are
commanded to “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty
hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your
care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:6-7).
Since I know that Jesus is the Lord of Abundance and the Lord of
the Harvest, then all of my petitions are being answered in
heaven by our heavenly Father. “For all of the promises of
God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through
us” (2 Corinthians 1:20).
For me, I have found that I must cast my care on Jesus and
believe that whatever I am waiting for is done. I must choose
the abundant life that He has given me and get busy living!
Instead of waiting, I have arrived! Choose life today, and you,
too, have arrived!
Meditation Scripture:
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and
supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known
to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”
(Philippians 4:6-7).
